I have this tractor sitting in my friends garage but I cant get there in person to see it and he is not real willing to poke around for numbers for me. I need a tractor and he might be willing to sell it to me but to be honest I dont know where to start to value it. He says its been used as recently as last year but that is grandfather said it will need some work. Anyway, any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Another member possibly ID"d it
"Billy, looks like a Ferguson TO-20 or TO-30. A friend of mine just bought a running TO-30 for $1000..... ..Kelly. "

Both the 8N and the Ferguson TO20 had similar looking rear ends and the metal gearshift knob, at least for the early years. Likewise the radius rods attached to the spindle parts of the front axle. But Ford would have an access lid in the hood for the gas tank, and I can see the distributor and coil on the left side of the engine, so that makes it a Ferguson for me.

Looks pretty much like a 9N or 2N Ford as it has pegs for foot rests. Maybe TO-20's had that system as well. Regardless of Ford or Fergy, if it doesn't run, shoot for less than $1000. Fergy's bring a little less than Ford. If it does run, it will be worth more.

I would say its more likely to be a TO-20 due to no air intake in the dash and the metal gearshift knob...

If it"s a Fergy, I don"t think he"d have to poke around much. The Ferguson had the serial and model numbers on a dash mounted plate. I couldn"t tell for sure from the pics, but even if the dash plate is missing, I think you would be able to see signs of where it had been. From the pics, I would agree that it"s a TO 20 or 30.
