Hi everyone, I know this has been discussed before, but I can't figure out how to search this to find the articles that might deal contain the solution so here is what I've got going on...

The 3-Point Hitch on my MF 135 will raise and lower normally with no load on the linkage. It will also behave normally with a 5' King Kutter brand rotary mower attached.

It would NOT raise (or at least very far...and even then it was the left linkage...that went the farthest up) with a King Kutter 3-Point Disk Harrow (the orange colored one) however, after one takes the disk off the linkage its fine again. Also I when I 'helped' it up (just a little bit to see if weight was the problem) , it would start to take and then sink back down again.

When the tractor was in the shop I had remotes installed...the levers that control the remotes and three point sit next to the seat and are the MF remotes acccessory that would have matched up with the tractor when it was new.

Would this be causing the problem? I am guessing without seeing my service manual, that a relief valve blew or something to that effect. I have a hunch whatever it is might be stupidly easy to fix and I'd like to try it myself.

Any guess at what the problem might be?

Christos

A little tip... if you remove the right hand inspection cover where the dipstick sits, and take a look in there you will see a roller and an arm acting on the roller. When you raise and lower the lifting and lowering lever on the quadrant you should see this moving. If you have the engine startet and idling, and trying to lift something heavy, try to move the roller on the end of the lever towards the rearend of the tractor. If it raises better then, it is not any leaks or trouble in the pump.

Hi Christos I think your problem probably is the master control spring is weak like MF poor says. If you will send me an email address I have a picture that shows how to connect a chain to check to see if that is your problem. Big Dean

You'll be better off letting Big Dean diagnos the problem, but until he does, here's what was wrong with the 3-point on my 150. Sound's very much the same.

Weak master control spring. (Located under the seat, at tractor end of 3-point top link. (weak or out of adjustment)

Save that, possibly the draft control bump stop screw out of adjustment. (located on under-side of 3-point top cover)

Mine would lift "light stuff" but when I tried to lift anything heavy, it wouldn't raise but part way. It wouldn't lift over 100lbs with the draft control side. Now (after all the "Big Dean repairs") it raises enough weight to pull the front end of the tractor off the ground. (No parts bought. Less than 2 hours spent adjusting)

Spend the $25 and get Big Dean's CD. It covers all these issues and so much more.

I agree. Buy the CD and you'll get a lot of worthwhile information.
