Installed a new Sunpro fuel gauge and sender in my MF135. Hooked up according to instructions...for sure.

Power on...nothing, no movement at all.

Replaced the new sender with the old one, which formerly worked. Power on....nothing.

How can I test the gauge itself for operation?

I ran the hot side of the meter directly to the + side of battery and the ground lug staight to negative...nothing.... took the sender out and moved it manually with power on....nothing.

Help?...and thanks...

All fuel gauges work similar. There is a gauge that requires 12v, a sense wire, and sometimes a ground. The sense wire simply measures resistance to ground. Hook the gauge up to power. It should read either full or empty, then ground the sense wire. It should read the opposite of the ungrounded state. If it does not, it is either not getting power, not wired properly, or it is dead. To test the in tank unit, hook up an ohmmeter and take a reading with the float elevated and lowered. It should change. If it reads infinite, you have an open somewhere. If you do a search, I am sure you will find other information on this. Some even written by me. BTW, its there an inline fuse?
