I found a tractor hidden in the desert.I know it's a M-H, and from the pictures it looks like a 55. It's rough but all there. Any clues as to actual model. Where is the tag located? Looked but did not find one. It's a LP burner too!

massey harris 55 will have a id plate on the left side of the engine tub frame near the back. if you can't find it there it is stamped in the transmission housing on top beside the clutch pedal

Is it for sale? If so, how much? I have a '48 55 that needs a J382 gasoline engine.
Thanks

Rear tire size might be a giveaway. 55 standards had 34" rear rims, while 44 standards had 30". I"m not sure if there was a 55 row crop ever offered. The 55 had a J382 engine, while the 44 had an H260, both by Continental. The engine number will be stamped onto the block, at the top just under the head. Also, 55"s had cast front hubs, with clamp-on style rims. Most 44"s had standard-type front hubs with 5 lug nuts.I hope this helps
