Changed the oil in my 135 MF and thought it held 8 quarts of oil like my f0rd 3000, I let tractor idle for 15 minutes with 8 quarts then checked dip stick, then I remembered that I was supposed to use only 6... Have I done any damage??? thanks

Probably not if you only ran the engine for a few minutes. Overfilling ususally results in foaming up the oil which can give you a problem over time.(The foamy oil doesn't pump well, does lube as well and doesn't transfer heat generated in the bearings well.) The windage loss (the power used to whip the oil up)will reduce you power somewhat. Just drain out the excess. I usually take a magic marker and write the oil quantity under the hood somewhere so I don't do what you did.

Usually the problem with a little too much oil is foaming. But with modern oils the anti-foaming ingredients reduce that.

With 2 quarts too much I"d be more concerned about creating a leak or making a small leak worse. I"d say that if you don"t see any significant leakage anywhere then you"re okay. I"d keep an eye on it for a little while though. If I were a betting man I"d bet you have nothing new to worry about.

I"m sure some others will have some more experienced information.

Dan
