this tractor is not charging I went through the wiring diagram I have and all looks good except the amp gauge is bad.I bypassed it but it still wont charge.I'm not familiar with a generator system-before my time, can anyone tell me a way to jump the regulator to check if it will charge.I've done this with a typical 12 volt alternator system but dont know how on a generator.I'm assuming it doesn't charge because the charged battery has about 12.24 volts not running and about 12.18 running.I'm also confused with the wiring diagram on how power gets to the ignition switch.I dont have the diagram in front of me but it seems to be fed from the solenoid back through the amp meter and voltage regulator then to the switch.Probably doesn't matter just need a way to test the system before I buy parts I dont need. Thanks Brenden

Has the Generator been polarized? Won't charge if it's not.

If it is a b-circuit genny, then you can take the field wire of fthe genny and apply battery volts to the field post . this will make the genny produce max charge. If it is a-circuit.. you would remove the field wire.. then apply ground to the field post on the genny to make max charge.
