Does anyone know what the correct transmission/rearend lub is. I have been told to use 80/90 weight and others have said that with all the wear in older tractors that 80/140 would be better. Any advice is appreciated.

When I had my Massey Harris 44 Diesel, I always used 90 weight oil and never had any problems. The local Massey dealer that sold the tractor recommended the use of it.

If you are going to work the tractor long and hard then use the SAE 140 if you can still find it. A lot of oil companys no longer supply it.Just not that much call for it these days with everyone gone to universal transdraulic oil.
