Went and looked at one last weekend pretty clean old tractor it has a freeman loader on it. The two main problems are it is leaking "grease" around the lefthand rear wheel. And it will only run for about 10 minutes and then die. If you let it set and then fire it up it will run a couple of minutes and then die again. Does anyone have any ideas? Are these major problems?

I"m having the same starvation issues with mine. The tractor hadn"t been run for at least 4 or 5 years. Sometimes it stalls within a minute, sometimes 10 or more. I"m pretty sure my problem is due to "varnish" and rust blocking the fuel line. If the tractor has been sitting a while, you might consider this as well.

The only source of grease around the rear wheel would be the planetary final drive, unless it is coming from the loader somehow.

The starts, runs and dies, sounds like fuel starvation to me. Check that you are not getting vapor lock due to the fuel line getting too hot next to the exhaust. Check that the flex hose is in good shape and not collapsing or cracked and sucking air. The vent on the top of the tank, in the lid may be plugged up by dirt, which would be like using a gas can without a vent. The fuel is gravity fed, so you can rule out the fuel pump. All of these are simple things. Sounds like the engine is not a problem.

I am not able to help you with the "grease" at the wheels. That sounds ominous to me, but then getting out of bed does the same thing.
