i have a mh pony with sickle bar mower i want the mower to run faster compared to the engime.
if i increase motor speed in low gear it also speeds forward motion and is not cutting grass
sharpened knives no difference are there different sized pullys for the mower? if so where can i get them ? thank you

I'm not sure that will help-not basically fixing
the real problem. You need to look at the ledger
plates on the guards to be sure not worn out. Also
play up and down on the sickle-remove shims or
replace hold downs. Also check the wear plates
under the sickle. Like a scissors these need to
shear the grass. Also check the "lead" on the
mower bar-the outer needs to be slightly ahead of
the inner. Mower bars need to be timed,that the
sickle is going across the ledger plates-this is
usually checked on a new mower and doesn't change
but is worth a look. Chuck
