Hi Everyone, I've finally got around to start posting again.

As many of you know my MF 135 (gas/deluxe) had been experiencing techinical difficulties, generally with the electrical system and having to jiggle wires and so forth.

I got to thinking about it, and I wanted to float this past you all - when the tractor was overhauled and rehabilitated mechinically, the mechanics installed the wiring system, some of it factory/OEM from AGCO and part of it they 'made up' by running wiring from the flashers/rear warning lamp to the light switch on the dash and the front headlights to the light switch.

I remember seeing a picture of the light switch that different positions to operate different functions of the lights and I know that the generator charges the battery and runs the electrics, so I was curious if the following would explain the battery being run down:

If I turn the light switch to the right, first position, the flashers, headlights and the dash lights (used to) come on all at the same time. If I turn it one more time, all the lights, front, rear work light and flashers, but not the dash indigo lights.

I know the original headlights had a high-beam function, and the original work light had a toggle switch on it as well to shut it off (this was according to the wiring diagram in my operators manual.)

So does this mean that with the way they've plumbed into the wiring harness, would it cause a short and subsequently drain the battery?

I know one of the wires from the ignition goes to light switch, and I bought a new light switch from AGCO but I haven't installed it yet because I have to take the sheared off portion of the safety starter switch out and replace it?

The light switch is the only thing that didn't get replaced at the time of the overhaul/rehabbing.

I hope i've made some sense of this,

Christos
