Big Dean valve adjustment question

Hello Big Dean, You helped me once before about a year ago.. I have been trying to adjust my MF50 (gas) valves, since I replaced my main and rod bearings, with the engine laying on its side on the garage floor. I did not touch the valve train or timing gears ... I have the engine remounted back on the tractor, but now a few of the valve tappets seem to hyper-extend and not allow any valve adjustment, the push rod is tight up against the rocker, and the adjustment screw is backed all the way out. Any idea what might be causing this? Thank you, Chris blair

Chris that sounds to me like the push rods somehow fell out of the sockets in the valve lifters while it was laying on it's side I don't know why they would do that but I have had a few that the push rods where put in and missed the lifters that is how they acted. Try removing the rocker arms and get the push rods in the lifters like they belong. Check to see if the push rods that are tight to be sure they are not bent. Hope this helps.
