I have a MF 202, but I have broken a hydraulic hose on the backhoe. This depleted my fluid level and now my power steering is not working. Could this be related?

I not sure what type of hydraulic fluid to put back in it. I have heard that if I put the wrong fluid in it I will screw up the hydraulic system.

I have a MF203 with an MF220 backhoe. What is your Backhoe?

On my unit the power steering is a seperate pump and does not use the regular tractor hydraulics. You remove a bolt from the steering pump and put fluid in it. If I remember correctly, Type A Transfluid is used.

The backhoe & tractors resevor (sp?) is in the side of the tractor (left) just behind the control arm and divertor valve. Use 90 wt mineral oil, which is available from NAPA. You need about 6 gals for a refill.

I have replaced many/most of the hydro lines on mine. Messy job..... but not two difficult.

Hope this helps!
