I have a MH 44 that I'm not sure of the year of manufacture. I found the following info on the transmission case below the casing P/N:
A13 03 - which I'm assuming is the S/N, below that is a large "S" with an "F" in the upper part of the "S" and what appears to be "oo" in the lower part of the "S" and below that is a "2". If I'm correct about the S/N everything I've seen makes this a 1947. Am I correct?
Also the numbers on the engine are H260A323 and below that is A230. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Bill Just to the left of the shift lever on the top of the transmission case is where the model and serial #'s are. You'll probably have to scrape away the paint and dirt and grease. It will be something like 44gr or gr1f plus 4 or 5 numbers. Instead of a G you may have a K, D, or B.
When you find these post them and we'll be able to identify model and year of your tractor

Steve, I'm still unable to locate the serial number. I have the transmission case cover (with gear shift) removed and can find no numbers like you mention anywhere. Is there something I'm just not understanding about the location?

I have a 1952 model 44 that I got recently. It took me a long time to find serial number.
On mine it is on the top left side of transmission case between the gear shift cover plate and the flat differential cover. It is just under the inside edge of the clutch pedal. I had to scrape paint down to bare metal to find it. It is stamped in letters about 3/8 to 1/2 inch high. This is just to the rear of the PTO/belt pulley lever.
