Hi, I was looking through the tractor pulling discussion forum and did not see any Massey's. Does anyone have any stories to tell to let the other color's know that Massey Ferguson's can pull? Thanks

Thanks for the stories. I have few first place trophy's pulling a 1130 and a 1150 in the stock classes. The 1150 pulled very competively even against modified stock JD's and IH's. The had a lot of money invested to get that extra 20 ft. Got a 2805 now. Does anyone have any info. or advise on pulling a 2805. How much HP. will it make stock with an inline pump. Thanks again for the stories.

In June, the pull around here had the 4500# stock class won by a 44D, 2nd was a 44GS, and a 33 took 3rd, not bad for 23 in the class

I was at a show last weekend and the pull is done pretty much for fun only, no real contest as such and no real classes for example. But, a Massey Harris 55 pulled the sled farther than anything else in the show on the one day, and there were a lot bigger tractors there, like John Deere 830's and a big Cockshutt diesel from the '1970's. That surprised me a bit but man, it could really pull that old Massey.

Several years ago some friends and I Pulled a MF 180 Diesel (Perkins 236) in the 4000 lb class. We put a light tricycle front end under it Stamped steel rear wheels and stripped off all of the extra weight we could. Using a Modified CAV Pump off of a Super 90 and an oversized turbo we would pull 145 hp with a fairly clean exhaust and then we added a "Torque Topper" (L.P. Added to the Air). While Pulling we would flip the switch on the "Topper" and the tractor would lunge foward wth the extra power. The first Summer we usually stood in the top 3 or 4 but later when we began to encounter larger tractors (4020's, XT190's!!) in this "Light class" the 236 didn't have enough.

My uncle used to pull our super 90 it has the 302 4 cyl diesel he had a tricycle front and he had 16.9x38's on tin wheels and he pulled it with good success alot of 1st and 2nd. He never got it lighter than 6000lb but he didn't get to serious on stripping it we use it to this day around the farm and it is one of our favorite tractors to run in the field it very smooth to run and enjoyable it has the 8 speed with multi-power giving you 16 they repaired the multi power and it has worked great since he always used it when pulling and it never missed a shift all in all a very good tractor. I feel nothing was even close to it all around in that era.
