Need Advice! MF 275 Fuel Injector

Hi folks,
Fuel injector on my dad's 275 is leaking fuel and I don't know where from (looks to be behind). He says it probably needs rebuilding and wants to get it looked at (good time of year to do so).
Having to close the petcock on the tank to keep it from dripping out.
I ran the tractor myself and didn't notice any problems with it running.
We've either got to boot up $100 to haul it to the shop or try to take off the injector ourselves.
He nor I have ever tackled an injector, are we asking for major problems, or can a couple of "shadetree" guys get this thing off and save ourselves some boot?
Anything in particular to be careful of if we do??

Thanks for any help..sorry about the long post.

You say "the injector". Are you taling about the injection "pump", or a single "injector"? I have the same engine in my MF-690. Do you have manuals for the tractor? Tom

You remove the two injector hold down bolts remove the bleed off line from the top disconnect the pump to injector line. If everything works like it should it will slip out of the head fairly easy. If the dust seal is bad and crud has built up in the hole between the injector and the head then you will have to pry them up out of the head. I cannot remember if the fuel tank has to be removed on the MF275 or not some tractors it does. Email me if you need more help

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant to say the injector pump itself. Cav model - didn"t get the model#. I just found a post Injector pump -CAV - MF 274-4 could it be shut-off control?
I may be able to get over there tomorrow, clean it up a little, and run it to see if I can better tell where the fuel"s coming from.
In the mean time - if you have any advice let me know, - I"ll post again tomorrow if I can narrow it down.
Thanks for the resposne.
One of my biggest concern taking the pump off is what kind of mess I"m getting into on the driven-gear side..
