I have MF 202 with Continental Z134 engine. The wire from the coil to the points goes through a little notch in distributor. The grommet that goes into the notch is gone, so the wire floats in there and after awhile it wears through the insulation and starts to short out. I need the proper wire/grommet setup but the MF dealer says it is discontinued. It's a Delco-Remy distributor; NAPA didn't help. Any ideas?

I have found the grommets in the local true value hardware store. In the back of the store they have a large row of bins that you slide out the drawers and look in. Also try radio shack.

Last year a Radio Shack had a collection of grommets made of better materials than I used to find. There's probably one in that collection to fit and it appears it will last a long time.

Grommets are also available in hardware stores and from McMaster-Carr, www.mcmaster.com

Most parts for MF tractors are still available from any AGCO dealership (Massey Ferguson, Oliver, White, Minneapolis Moline, other makes). This is where I get my parts for our MF 205 diesel.

Can not help as far as finding the part you need but, and this is what I have done in the past. Put the wire in and then take a little bit of silicone gasket sealer and use it to keep the wire from moveing around. I did that one time to one and last I knew its still working just fine. Just be careful how much you use and make sure you didn't glue the cap on doing it
