At an auction today I bought a 3pt attachment that has a Massey Ferguson tag on it.Seems to be a crane or lift that only has about a 2 ft neck to lift things with It swivels somwhat uses no
top link just has brackets on it that hook on the 3 pt arms. What was the intended use of this thing?

Here are a couple of pictures of a weight transfer hitch at a tractor show.

Can't figure out how to thumbnail the things. I'll attach one to this post, then reply to this with the other pic.

Sounds like a PRESSURE CONTROL COUPLER. According to the manual "The pressure control coupler is used to transfer weight from trailed drawbar pulled equipment to the tractor rear wheels" This is is only use (in my opinion" for the Constant Pumping section of the Position Control lever which one never uses and which occupies the more useful front half of the quadrant. I will try to add a scanned image once I find out how to do it.

Constant pumping is used for auxillary hydraulics for pull type implements or loaders, hence the name constant pumping. I'm not sure if it's used with the pressure control hitch. I think the draft control might be used with the pressure control hitch. Nice find at an auction. I've read they are rare.
