Recently purchased a MF 30B for about 3K and had my mechanic go over it thoroughly. As I have a backhoe, I have removed (for the time being) the loader and plan to use the tractor for brush hoging and mowing. She has a locking rear diff and a F-R shuttle lever on the left side. Can you fellas fill me in on the horsepower and such? would you get a 60" or 72" brush hog? Is the perkins strong enough to run a square baler? I used to have an 8N, but this thing is soooo much better ...power to spare and live lift-pto.
Also, the frame that holds the loader makes me think that she once had a hoe on her. What model hoe did Massey mount on a 30B platform? are these things available from time to time?
Thank in advance for your comments and information!
Peace
Bill

Do you know which backhoe came with a MF 2135?

Most likely a MF185 or a MF220 hoe would be on the MF2135 tractor

My book doesn't show but on Puddings web page is a brochure. It lists a 212 backhoe and 100 loader. Dave

The 30B is an excellent loader. It has an AD3 152 diesel rated at 45 net flywheel HP or a continental Z145 rated at 42 HP. It came with a manual shuttle or instant reverse transmisssion. It sounds like you have the manual shuttle. I think the PTO runs different with a manual shuttle tranny. I think it reverses when you back up, so you have to be real careful with PTO implements. I'm not positive on this though. Someone else will probably know for sure. If you are cutting really heavy grass and brush a 5 Ft. would have power to spare. If it is shorter and kept cut a 6 Ft will work just fine. The loader is an MF34A with a 3300lb lift and 5500lb. breakout force. They were available with an MF54A backhoe with 12ft.6in. digging depth. You had to have the shuttle in reverse when running the hoe. Trying to find a used one could prove difficult. I don't know how much HP a baler takes. The 30B is basically an industrial 245 [135] model. I wish I had one. Hope this answers yours questions. Dave

The MF30B with the manual shuttle transmission is the same tractor as the MF245 orchard the only difference in them is the paint and where the shuttle shift lever is located. They have 43 PTO HP and 35 Drawbar HP. We always recommend a 72 inch rotary mower on them when we sold one. It will handle a square baler very well. You could get them with a MF52A backhoe on them.

We were responding at the same time. My book says 54A backhoe on 30B, 52A on 20C. It could be wrong or maybe both were available? It says the 54A was available as a 12ft.6in.on the 30B or a 12ft.6in. or 14ft.6in. hoe on bigger machines. The 52A with 11ft.6in. depth was listed on the 20C which is a slightly lighter machine. They probably attach the same way. Dave
