Hi,

I'm a rookie tractor owner and I'd like to know what type of brakes are on my 1949 MH GS.Also, are they adjustable? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Not familiar with your tractor. You should have drum brakes probably on the outside of the axle. There should be a slot with an adjuster visible through it or a type of bolthead which will be the adjuster.
As a general rule, slacken the rods to the pedal/s, jack up each side and adjust up until the wheel just bites. Tie the pedal/s up in the fully raised position and adjust you brake rod to suit so that you can just get the pins in. When you have done this on both sides, slacken the drums off just enough to ensure that they are completely free.
