Just bought a MF 135 - a real beauty. Wanted to put new plug wires to install, but was surprised to see I had to cut them to length and install the cap end clips to the wire as opposed to being able to buy a complete kit like I could for my old Ford 8N. These wires have the rubber on the the outside, and then white carbon surrounding the copper wire in the centre. My question is how do the copper clips attach to the end? I peeled back 'bout 1/4" of the rubber and squeezed the part of the clips that sits in the distributor around the white carbon. The 135 seems to run rough and was misfiring on one cylinder after installing. Went back to the old wires and it runs much better so I figure I've missed something when installing the new plugs.

Brian - go back to your parts house and ask for solid copper ignition wire. The carbon core stuff just doesn't work for those older tractors!
