Can someone tell me if a 3 point hitch can be put on a 44 massey harris. Were there any factory hitches made for these. The tractor i have has only the draw bar with a pto shaft on the rear.
If a hitch can be put on there how does it lift?
Thanks for all your responses to my questions to date.

Thanks Jeff
What do you think the 3 pt. setup would cost, i am residing in Alberta. Do you know if there were very many of hitches produced at the time of manufacture. I do have the hydraulics under the seat but it has all been disconnected at some time, maybe when someone installed a loader on the front, but it would be nice to have the three point capability. From what I've seen, a MH 3pt goes for around $300. If you are still using your loader, you should be able to reconnect the cylinder for the 3pt. These are "open" systems, as long as your spool for the loader has an outlet, you can connect that to the inlet of the 3pt cylinder, and the outlet from the 3pt goes back to the reservoir. They are getting harder to find, but I'll email you with a contact. --Jeff

YES, you could get a "factory" 3pt for a MH 44. If your tractor has MH hydraulics on it, there should be a hydraulic cylinder under the seat. This is used as the lift cylinder for the 3pt. The style I am familiar with had the mount for the center link below the pto. This makes it unusable if you wanted the use the 3pt & pto at the same time ( such as for a snowblower ). I know someone who might be able to locate one for you if you are interested.
