Hey gang. Happy New Year. I just finished doing a cosmetic and rewiring on a 55 model TO 35. Can anyone tell me how to work the draft control? I have a setting on the levers labeled "draft" but it does not seem to allow the scraper blade to float when I use that setting. The pictures in all of the manuals I have been able to scare up are not real clear on how to set the handles of the control to get the draft set. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to pull gravel and a soft draft would be great.

I agree with Jerry that Draft works more for plowing...but no harm trying it on the gravel.

Put the draft lever up in draft range and the position lever down. There is a small range of adjustment in the position lever that dictates how sensitive the draft response is (slow to fast). With the levers in this position use the draft lever to adjust the depth. When you need to lift the implement out of the ground, use the position control lever (all the way up). When not using draft, put the the draft lever down (off).

As a side note...on my "55 TO35 the position control worked but the draft didn"t. Turns out a small clip had popped off internally, allowing the draft control finger to come off. If your draft still does not work...you may need to pull the side or top cover and troubleshoot. I strongly suggest getting manual first!

Good luck!

If you're using a scraper you should be using position control not draft control. Position control will keep the blade at a fixed position where as draft control will vary the implemet height as a function of the tension load on the implement. It's really for plowing. As you p;ow and hit a tough peice of ground, the top link compresses the draft spring which through a linkage moves the control valve to raise the implement. In your case as you drag the scraper and hit a rock or a hard spot, the scraper will lift and then drop back when the obstacle or resistance is passed.
