I have just restored a 55 model TO35. I have many manuals for this little tractor but nothing is clear on how to set the controls for draft. On the level guides there is a position for draft but it does not seem to make a difference. I need the rear blade to float slightly when I am grading rock. Can somebody give me some guidance on how to set the draft controls? Also, the hydraulics seem to bleed off quickly when I shut the tractor off. Is this normal or is there an adjustment that I can make to get the hydraulics to hold better? I would appreciate any help. You folks have been great throughout my restoration.

bob...if you have a 1955 TO-35, you have a "fergie" (ferguson tractor) you might wanna check the ferguson forum as well as this one. i think i remember seeing a post on the "draft" issue in there a week ago or so.

Draft control is only for plowing and field work, not for landscaping. use the position control.
follow the owners manual exactly.

sound like your system needs a major tune up, not hard. replace all o-rings and gaskets and the relief valve, and big piston rings. make sure the big draft control spring under the seat is not goofy
