The 3 point on my MF 2135 will pick up a 4 x 6 bale, but the hydraulics start knocking.

I have a '58 Fe35 with a modernized loader - quick release the whole nine yards. I have no problem picking up 4x5 rounds with the loader - even driving around out in the field as long as it's not too muddy and there aren't huge ruts to cross. Using the 3 pt - No issues at all lifting big rounds. These are rounds for horses - perhaps the drying affects the weight.

What's the weight of th bales? Our 5x5 round bales with first cutting grass go 1340 lbs. Find out what the lift is rated at. My guess is around 1000-1200 lbs. My guess is that if the tractor lift is rated higher, then you'll need front ballast to keep the front wheels on the ground.

THAT'S the big question...how big of a bale. our 5X5 bales'll either raise the front end of the 135, or you end up brake steering. either way you aren't gonna go very far with them.
