HI

I want to clean or change the hydraulic filter
my MF-135 has IPTO and the IPTO pump releif valve is just over the hyd filter. Do you know if the releif valve can be removed without splitting the tractor.

When I try to loose the fitting (shining nut) the whole releif valve turns..and come close to the hyd filter. Do you know it this fitting can be turned alone or if it is part of the valve. I did'nt apply too much force I'm afraid to break something.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bart

The IPTO relief valve cannot be removed by loosing the nut..I do'nt know why MF did not provided a removable fitting in order to remove the valve to permit accenss to the hyd pump filter. However...The hyd pump filter can be partially unscrewed until it toutch under the releif valve and may be cleaned with a little solid wire with curved end...that done the bottom of the differencial can be rinced with diesel fuel or kerosene and evavuated by the drain plug.

Retight the filter and reinstall the locking wire.

I done that on my 135 few years ago and it seems to be good.

Good luck

Hi Bart,
Generally the answer is yes, the tractor does have to be split to remove the aux filter. The Ferguson one should be removable by removing the pipes etc and side cover. Have you checked the underside of the casing? I believe some later 135's had the triangular plate to access the filter. If you have one this may help although yours does look like the older one. You may be able to clean the aux filter by removing the metal particles with a small magnet first and then spraying it with an aerosol degreaser. Afterwards flush the casing with diesel or a small amount of petrol and allow it to drain through the drain hole. (Logical Jim)
