I have an early model 135 with 4 cylinder continental gas engine. I have pulled the plug in housing to look at timing marks, I can see the timming marks but what do I align the marks on the flywheel to, I see some lines on the outside of the hole on housing(I have yet to see anything inside except timing marks on flywheel). All help appreciated

Just wondering if you are able to help me or not?? I my self have no idea at all on tractors but my father innlaw is wanting to sell his tractor and asked me to look on the internet as to see how much roughly the asking price is for one. Now he said it is a Massey Ferguson mfr4500 row crop. It is in great working order runs well done up. and hes been told by a few elderly gentleman that is extremely old! I have looked and looked and cant find this model or anything on this tractor if you could help me that would be greatly appreciated.

Charles, you're on the right path. Just consider the marks on the side of the hole in the housing as your timing indicator. Changing the timing will result in the marks on the flywheel "moving" relative to those marks on the side of the housing when viewed from directly in front of the hole. Same principle as with the timing marks on the crankshaft of a car.
