I just thought that a rebuild kit would take care of my hydraulic pump. While working on assembling the pump I found a hairline crack in my strainer housing. Well, not exactly hairline. More like broken nearly into two parts. It became broken into two parts while I was examining it. Not good.

Anybody got a spare one of these for these?

Gary, I'm located in Limestone, TN. I have found a few of them, but they are not cheap. If I had seen that crack before I ordered by rebuild kit I would have just bought another pump. We live and learn, I suppose. Tim

What's it made out of? If it's pot metal you need another one. If it's aluminum a good shop specializing in aluminum could weld it up good as new. Look for a place that does snowmobiles or aluminum radiators. An aircraft specialty welding shop could also repair it to as good as new. Don't take it just anywhere because someone might say they can fix it and not have a clue. Look at some other work the shop has done. They should be able to help identify what material it's made out of. Dave

Dave, Not really sure, but I think it's aluminum. Gonna check on some replacement units and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the feedback.
Tim

I found alot of parts on the johndeere.com parts lookup. I'm amazed on how much new parts are still out there. You might try looking there for new if you can't find anything used.
