The swivel joint on a a line going up to my loader has a small leak. Any way of fixing it short of replacing the line?

A supplementary question: What is the best sealing goop to use on hydraulic fittings?

The leak is just a couple of drops an hour. Definitely not under high pressure. I probably wouldn't bother at all with it except they fall on the clutch pedal, making it very slippery. Banged my shin a few times slipping off in "emergency" stops (as in,... oh well it was a young pear tree probably wouldn't have made it through the winter anyway!)

The goop I'm looking for is to put on threads and to help out gaskets joining control assembly to resevoir tank. I wouldn't think of trying to goop up a swivel joint(although I'm embarrassed to admit trying Teflon tape... what a mess!)

This not to spoil your day, but:

Never ever use anything other than specified for 3000+ psi for hyd purposes! Thus: no goo!
A tiny leak will act like a laser knife and cut right through a hand or worse...

Always replace, or get rebuilt.

After having said this, try if the o-ring in the swivel joint needs replacement - they do get worn from time to time.
