I ran out of diesel on my massey ferguson and it shout off completly. I filled up with diesel and it didn't start. What can I do? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Don't run out of diesel on a paved road on a hill during a cold snap in January.

The neighbour whom I flagged down for help said, "You only do that once."

He came back with his John Deere to tow me off the road and suggested that sometimes after all the priming a tow is the way to get going. It can save burning up a $400. starter, or in my case, get the tractor going after the starter packed it in.

Expensive lesson learned.

when you run out of fuel you need to bleed the air from the fuel system to get it started usually. The link below is to a picture with instructions for bleeding the air from the system
