Bill:

MF has given you a good synopsis of the MF system. The MF owners manual has a more comprehensive description but it is overly complicated.

One of the regular posters here, David P, South Wales (I belive) has a more concise, easier to understand instruction publication of how to use the MF system. You should ask for this, as proper operation of the MF system is an art that is being lost.

My friend has a early model 135 with Muli-power.
However, he does not know anything about the lift system.

How can I get him a copy of the MF lift operations booklet you mentioned.

Sincerely,

The lever closest to the fender (the one with ROUND knob) is for DRAFT CONTROL function. The inside lever (with square-ish knob) is POSITION CONTROL. When using plows or ground engaging equipment, raise position control lever until it hits a stop ALMOST at the highest point and leave it there. Use the outside lever to raise and lower plow. When using position control on implements such as a mower, raise draft control lever to highest point and leave it alone. Use inside lever to raise and lower mower.

That squared knob and the position control lever will go beyond that stop. When it's past that stop and at its absolute highest point, you have the hydraulic pump cycling at all times. That's for use with remote hydraulics and/or a loader.

Set adjustable stops (small round knurled knobs) to gauge implements at their desired working height/depth.

Apparently you don't have an owners manual. The lift function is well explained in there. I'd highly recommend getting that manual if you aren't familiar with your tractor.
