I have a 231S that I purchased back in July. Only have about 30 hours on it. It runs ok up to about 1800 rpm, then it has a slight miss. If I "throttle up" suddenly, it climbs to about 2100 rpms and thens starts missing (sputtering actually) and SMOKING LIKE CRAZY. If you "throttle up" s l o w l y, it does better but still has a slight miss. My dealer suggested trying diesel conditioner, which I did, but it didn't help. I live about 150 miles from my dealer so it is not easy to take it in but it looks like I may have to. Anybody have any suggestions???? Also have any of you had any experience getting a dealer to work on a tractor (under warranty) that they didn't sell??? I have heard horror stories about this and don't relish the idea of fighting with my local dealer, who was about $1000. higher than they one I bought from. I APPRECIATE ANY COMMENTS!

Travis, I' almost sure you have the problem resloved by now, however A MF Dealer in Montgomery
Al has found the same problem and he says there is a MF Fix out. He corrected the problem on one I just purchased with 160 hours. His name is Doug Stough and ph NBR is 1-800-239-3353. He will be glad to tell you how, simple fix.
