Hi, I need some help with a hyd problem on my MF 35. The lifting arms will not lift. I have a manual however it is not very good. It is unclear as to adjusting or how it even works. the pump is working and I have removed the top cover with the lifting arms. I have looked and dont see anything that looks like a problem. If anyone out there can give me a call or email me with there phone # I sure would thank you. I just have a few questions. my# 479 229-0172

Hi,
From your posting it sounds like the arms will not lift at all. You say that you have removed the cover. Are you sure that the stack pipe is engaged correctly? Drain the oil to the level of the bottom bolt on the RH side cover and remove the cover. With the engine stopped reach inside with your fingers until you can feel the stackpipe and make sure it is engaged in the body of the pump. Remove hand!!! Start the engine and work the levers. You should see the pump lever being pushed by the levers from above as you move the quadrant levers. Please come back when you know whether the pump is being operated.

Thanks David, I will give it a try. I just got new o-rings onto the stack. I will put the cover back on and see what happens.

I'm more familiar with the TO- series but I believe you have an access plate on the right side of the hydraulics compartment. Open this up, Start the engine (I believe you have live hydraulics)put the lift control lever full up and look up underneath the liftcover for leakage from the cylinder. (DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTATNCES PUT YOUR HAND IN THE COMPARTMENT WHEN THE ENGINE IS OPERATING!)Anything more than a few drops is not normal and indicates damaged seals or a cracked cylinder. If you don't have a leak, your lift control system is different than the TO- series I believe and you'll need some one more familiar with it than I. Look in the archives of go to Big Dean's web site and you might find the answers there.
You really need to get a factory mannual for your MF 35. You probably have an IT manual and they are not detailed enough nor do they contain the systems descriptions of the factory manuals.

Hope this helps you
