Well, I finally got the right gear set for my pickup. Put her all together once and did not have 5th gear. Pulled it back out. Installed the right gearset. Decided to replace the bushing that the driveshaft rides in. The rear seal that I installed two days ago came out in three pieces. Got one of those on order. Put the tranny in the truck, but cannot install driveshaft til the seal comes in.

Decided it was time to look into the hydraulic control valve issues on my 65. Backed the control valve adjusting nut all the way out but pump refused to unload. Carried 2500 psi til the key was shut off. Pulled the lift cover, driveshaft, pump, control valve. Sat down at the puter to ask y'all folks what I had wrong. I went to get the old control valve so that I could better explain the situation. That is when I noticed a difference. The old valve had a rise where the new had a divot. Further looking revealed a collar that I did not see prior. I pulled the collar of the old valve and installed it on the new valve. I tested it when I was aligning the pump. It runs unloaded until you pull back on the control valve, then it squirts ya in the face. Never been so happy to ruin a shirt.

Thanks all. Y'all squared me away before I even hit the post button...
