Hi Guys
As some of you will have read I need a certificate of conformity to get this tractor registered and used over here in Scotland. Part of the information I need to gather as evidence in achieving this is the engine number. The manual says it is in the right front valley of the cylinder block, as seen looking from the drivers seat. I have the hood off, expansion tank etc but still cant find it. Does anyone know exactly where it is and can it be read without dismantling other parts of the tractor or engine. I am getting desperate now as the tractor is just sitting here doing nothing in the meantime.
Thanks
Bill

Bill ,I have a diagram here from a perkins site. It shows the 640 v/8 having the sn at the back left of the valley. The 510 and 540 are at the fromt right. Ray

Brilliant, had another look where you said after pressure washing the engine and the number has now been found. The people on this forum like yourself are really helpful particularly as we in Scotland never had models such as these when they were being sold new. Thanks again Bill
