I am getting ready to install a new crank to replace the one that broke in the Perkins Diesel. I have checked the balancer box and can't find anything wrong, is there anything else that I should look for before I put the engine back together?

We have a Super 90 that my dad purchased new and around 9000hrs it dropped a valve. Overhauled the engine for the first time and about 200 hrs the crank broke. Put a new crank & brgings in. About 600 hrs, later I was spraying with it & the crank broke again. We were told by a machine shop we should have had the block align board, that the block may have been distorted. We went with a new short block instead. We have not had any engine problems since. The tractor has quite a few more hours on it since that was done without any problems.
