I am having problems with my lift. Good tractor (I love the unit). The lift doesn't want to come up, sometimes it will come up if it doesn't have very much wieght. I am a pretty good machanic, but I don't know alot about hyd, and I am afraid to go into the lift. I have a IT manual, but it is more a general manual and does not fit my needs with my experance in hyd.Any response would be greatly appricated.

Hi Bob,
First af all check your oil level. You may have a small triangular plate under the rear centre housing. If you have, drain the oil and remove the plate. This will give you access to the 3-pt filter. Remove and clean. If you do not have the plate underneath remove the left hand round side cover. You will see the filter inside with a steel cup over the top and should be secured by wire. Cut the wire and remove. There is a steel cup at the bottom with an O ring. Be careful there are sharp edges present. It is advisable to re-wire the filter. I normally use some copper wire cut from heavy duty electrical cable. If this is OK replace filter and oil. If you have an implement fitted remove the top link and move your DRAFT lever to the fully lowered position. Check for end-float in the mechanism which goes into the hydraulic cover. If you have play here please come back and we'll go through the adjustment procedure. This play can prevent the control valve opening fully to give full lifting power.

Cheers
