I have acquired a one row, pto driven corn snapper(no husking rolls). Tag reads "MASSEY HARRIS 1 ROW CORN PICKER MANUFACTURED BY THE MASSEY HARRIS COMPANY INC. BATAVIA, NEW YORK, USA MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER 7622. The original owners manual was folded in half and stored neatly in the tongue tool box. On the front cover, at the bottom left, reads 4-1/2M-5-53-S. I make note of this because on all my old IHC manuals, this is a printing date code (May od 53). Is that what this is? I drug this out of the tree line 3 Wednesdays ago, and 4 days later used it to pick 15 rows of white corn I grew for the corn mill. Wonderful machine. Any way of telling what year it was manufactured? Thanks for any help or comments,

Kevin

Let me work on some pics. I'll post a new thread when I get some made, since I don't know how many people use the modern view .

Sorry, I can't be of help with year of manufacture. Isn't it great that a more or less 50 year old machine that has been out in the weather no telling how long could go right to work. I bet that machines made right now will not do as well in like conditions 50 years from now.
