Hi folks.

I am wondering about Metallic Flint Grey used on the early MF tractors.

I have a UK built MF 65 Mark I, from 1960. It was painted Metallic Flint Grey (I assume).
The color looks a bit like Silver Mist, but with a yellow tint.

How was this in the US ? Did Ferguson / Massey Ferguson come with many different "grey" shades from 195x and up to the 100 series in 1965 ?
I have seen a lot of different "grey" shades on restored tractors on pictures.

Anyone wants to enlighten me ?

Bill

I think in the restoration people get what they can. Also different companies may have different shades.

The FENA colo chart has the following paint codes for the Metalic Flint Grey.

DuPont: L7949
NAPA: 3746
PPG 34690
Shirwin Williams: 4650
Vapormatic:VLB5028

There is a note that these are what is generally concidered closest to origonal.

So, you are actually saying that MF had only one grey up to the 100 series ? Do I understand you correctly now ?
