The Massey Harris 50 is essentially the same tractor as the Ferguson F-40 and the Massey Ferguson 50 with a few minor sheet metal differences. They're "rare" in the sense there weren't as many of them as F-40's and MF50's, but not rare in the valuable sense. They're good tractors if in decent condition. It's basically a Massey 35 with a longer wheel base, heavier front axle, better steering components, bigger fuel tank, better mounting for loaders, along with the fact they were available as a high clearance model (high arch) In good condition, it should handle a 6' mower in most conditions. I grew up around an F-40 Ferguson and an MF50. I tried pulling the F-40 at our county fair a few times when I was a teen-ager. Shoulda saved my entry money. It wasn't a great pulling tractor. (Too heavy, especially on the front end, for the power it had) F-40's are the most valuable, then the MF 50. MH 50's are just a tick under the MF 50 in value, all things being equal. Average to rough MH 50's, $2500 to $3200. Good, $3200-$3800. Mint or restored, $4000 to $5000. Standards (24" or 28" rear wheels) sell higher than high arch models (38" rears) in this area.
