You guys seem to have some experts online so I want to try one I need help with. I have a M/F and I think this is serial #9A213658, at least that is the only number I have found so far. I need an engine block for this thing as some where back in time, a rod must have broken and went thru both sides of the motor. You can see all the way thru it!! I can tell that it is a 4 cyl, gas engine. That is all that I can determine. It was included with another old tractor that I bought at a good price and I couldn't say no. All the help you can give me would be appreciated even assiting with finding a block. Thanks in advance. Allen

Hello From "Big Dean's" web page on industrials, the MF 205 starts with sn 9A213451 in 1968. Your sn is not far from that 9A213658. This may be what you have. DH

MF tractors from the first production through today have used 4 cylinder gas engines, mostly from Continental and Standard.

My serial number notes say the MF-135 SN started with 641 from 1964 through mid 1967 then changed to the 9A prefix thorugh 1974 which began with SN 9A 179544.

An engine model from the engine SN tag will hint more at the tractor.

Things are harder to trace in the industrial tractors compared to the farm tractors, but many were virtually identical.

That looks like a serial number but we need some more info to determine a model. The 9A serial numbers were used for a lot of different tractors. Maybe look at some of the photos to see if there is a similar tractor. Dave

Try looking for a serial number on a plate on the side of the frame and also on the top of the transmission housing.

I don't think that number is the serial number with a letter in it.
Here is a list of MF serial numbers.
Hope this helps.

Certain years of my MF-135 including 1968 DO use the 9A prefix on the serial number.

Thank you for that info. Had me wondering. I am going to look other places on the tractor tomorrow and if I cannot find another one, I am going to take a picture and post it on the forum. Thanks again
