On and off all year long I've been having problems with diesel fuel getting into the crank case. So much so that it flows right out the dipstick. Sometimes it will go two weeks before the fuel comes flowing out, and other times just a day or two.

I put a new lift pump on and that didn't seem to do the trick, so I bought a new injection pump. Still getting fuel in the oil.

Thinking that possibly the cam lobe for the lift pump was wore and causing the pump arm to move side to side, I replaced the lift pump with a 5-8 lb electric pump that I hooked up to only come on when the engine is running.

Still getting fuel in the oil. I called the local Massey dealer and all they can do is scratch their heads. Anyone out there run into this before? Any Ideas?

The tractor runs excellent, just likes it's diesel oil mixture.

I also changed the base of the injection pump thinking that the bushing might be wore.

The only thing left is the injectors and the tractor isn't missing on any cylinder. What am I missing?

I agree with Holm. As a former dealer I can say
that we had more than one replacement lift pump
that leaked from the first day. Chuck

Thanks!! I'm going to take the injectors out and see if I can get them serviced. I'm hoping that this cures my problems and I'm not dealing with poor compression or something else.

I'm also going to check the seal on the bottom of the new pump. 5 gallons of oil every time this happens is a little pricey.

Thanks Again,
Wayne

There is a good possibility that your new pump has a bad seal. Take the pump off so you can see if the seal is leaking and hook your electric fuel pump up to it. Pressurize the pump and see if fuel runs out.If it doesn't then it has to be the injectors and/or poor compression.

Its possible that all the injectors are worn and the fuel in the crankase and the black smoke are saying over fueled from worn or broken injector tips and/or injection pump turned up way too much.
