MF 205 Diesel Oil Pressure Question?

Is it possible to adjust the oil pressure on a Perkins diesel engine? The oil pressure runs near the low end of green on the gauge and I don't have an adapter to put a test gauge on the engine. Also I was wondering if I did get the gauge connected, is there an oil pressure cutout if the switch doesn't detect pressure because the test gauge is connected? On my John Deere the oil pressure can be adjusted with a jam nut, but I haven't read anything like that in the MF manual. Thanks.

Larry

I don't know much about an adjustment for the pressure. My hunch is that if there is one it would be on the pump itself, which to get to would mean dropping the pan. In my opinion (which isn't worth much) if you were that far you might as well slide some new bearings in there anyway. Assuming that the bearings are the cause of the low pressure, suppose it could be the pump itself. How many hours on the engine since the last bottom end?

I believe that if you connect a pressure gauge to the line, bypassing the pressure switch, all you will do is keep your alternator from charging for those few minutes which i don't think will harm a thing.
