I am posting this again in hopes that someone can help.I have a TO35 with the tractometer, deluxe seat, ammeter guage, and ground speed power take off as well as the standard 540 power take off. As I understand my owners manual this is the deluxe model and should have the dual clutch. The problem is it does not have a dual clutch. Could it be worn out or out of adjustment? You can raise the emplement without the pto running.Any Ideas? Thanks, Chuck Nantz

The hydraulic pump is on the PTO shaft but in front of the gear shift for ground/off/540. If you can shift that PTO shift lever (left side) with the clutch pedal up, you have an independent PTO that is shifted hydraulicly by that lever.

With the PTO in gear for 540 operation an the dual clutch, it should stop running after the tractor looses power when you push in the clutch pedal. There should be 2 or 3 inches of pedal left when the propulsion clutch releases, and the PTO clutch should release before the pedal hits the foot plate.

And when you push the clutch pedal enough to stop the PTO shaft it also stops the hydraulic pump so the lift stops rising.

If you can't shift the PTO lever from neutral to 540 without gear grinding and with the clutch pedal pushed all the way down (takes a new leg muscle to do that all day), then the clutch pedal needs adjustment or the PTO clutch plate is stuck to the flywheel or the PTO clutch pressure plate fingers are broken off.

Thanks for the help. My serial number starts with SGF. So I guess mine is single stage. Thanks again, Chuck

I show there are 2 11" dual stage pressure plates one early and one late depending on serial numbers or a 9" single stage fitting the to35 by my catalog for clutch parts.

I don't think the PTO has to be running for the lift to work. Put the PTO on engine speed and put the tractor in gear. Push the clutch half way down to see if the tractor stops and the PTO keeps turning. If everything stops you have a single clutch. If only the tractor stops you have a dual clutch. Dave

Check out this serial number list http://www.fergusonenthusiasts.com/default.htm it tells by serial number if your tractor has the

Chuck, I don't know if this will help on your 35,but on my 135 M/F you can adjust the clutch by the shaft on the pedal. Turn shaft clockwise. sorry, can't remember all details. P.M.me I,ll try to find manual.
