I am getting ready to install the rear wheel weights on my MF65. Does anyone have the dimensions of the bolts? I think they are 5/8 x1 5/8 carriage bolts but I am not sure as I had to cut all of them off. I am also curious as to how you would suspend the weights for painting. I was going to use wire and hang them from the garage ceiling, but am wanting to know how others have done this. Got chains coming....

Thanks in Advance,

Aaron

Aaron:

I painted 6 ring type MF weights for a MF 35 last year. I thought them too heavy to hang at about 90 lbs. each.

I angled them on cardboard against the inside of the barn wall and painted one side. Since I can only work on hobbies on weekends, I waited a week, turned them around and painted the other side. The next weekend, I turned them 180 degrees and painted the bare spot that had been at the bottom.

Of course, since I first primed, I needed to do all of this twice. It took about a month but they turned out great.

I bought a box of 5/8 carriage bolts for mine. If memory serves, they were 1 3/4" long.

Not sure about the bolts. What weights I've painted, I shot one side with them laying on the shop floor. Flipped 'em over in a couple days and shot the other side.
