Has anyone ever cut the rails from a power adjust and welded them back in aother rim . The 6 loop rims are $144.00 and the power adjust is $375.00. And if you have how did you do it??? Thank Archie

Arch:

I know of no one who has done this with the common MF/AC type power adjust rims but it has been done with the (no longer available anywhere) vintage Ford power adjust rims.

It looks to be a more difficult job to do this on the Ford design rims so it clearly ought to be possible to do so with the MF/AC rail type rims.

I have been told that it is a tedious, time consuming process to do this with Ford power adjust rims.

Used MF PA rims of this design should not be hard to find.

Most wheel damage I have seen is corrosion from CACL leakage. I reversed my rims so that the damaged/welded area would not show. I am interested in seeing if the rails could be removed and reinstalled also.

Thanks

Aaron

If your rims are worn in one place and you don't need full adjustment capability you can change the rims side for side. It will alter wheel track, but its cheaper.
