I have a 1956 333 just bought it in november. It had water in the hydraulic oil so i drained it and flushed with dieseil fuel.Yesterday i changed the engine oil and filter.Today i worked the tractor for about an hour plowing snow .I checked the oil after it set a while and it seems to have a tad more in it than it did when i started plowing.I fgure the only way hydraulic could get in there is if there is a seal or o-ring gone between where the hydraulic pump bolts on where you add the engine oil.
From what i can tell there only seems to be 2 bolts holding the pump to that housing. What im wondering is if there is a seal or o-ring in there that would cause this problem and if so what kind of job it is to change it.Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me..... John

My little Kubota b7500 makes oil to. Had it tested at Holt Cat and it was Hydraulic fluid. The seal between the hydraulic pump and the engine is poorly designed and must seep when there is back pressure or something. Caterpillar told me that Hytran is OK for the engine so unless it gets to full, where I could blow seals, rings etc. I'm not going to worry about it. I've already replaced seal twice. Apparently this was not Kubota's best design feature.

John

If it is the original pump there is an oil seal behinfd the drive gear you have toi disassemble the pump to install it.

there are two o-rings in there and no gaskets except where the pump mounts on the gear case. You should not have much of anything to worry about because your Hyd.sysm.uses 10 or 20(depends on weather) Motor oil instead of(NOT) Hyd.Oil so no damage will happen to your engine.

not sure how much you mean by a tad over full or how long you waited to check it but the oil if still warm will have expanded some due to heat, check it again after it has set overnight! You would be surprised how much even a gallon of oil will expand when heated!!
