Massey dealer... The 640 cube engine was used in the 860 combines as well as the 2775 and 2805 tractors.

I do not believe that an 860 combine had a 640
engine. I do have more than one production run
of literature,The dealer product information
booklets(including the late production one)and
the "Official Guide" which all show that an 860
had 354 turbo(standard)and the 540 as option. The
2805 used the 640 engine. Chuck

I was no aware of the 860 combine having a 640 engine. I think all V8 860 combines were 540 cu. in.

There is one about 10 miles from me that has a 640 in it. I think I found another one on the machine locator with the same engine, but can't be sure. They list the 540 around 150 horse in combines with the 640 around 175. I'll dig out the books later after work but I'm sure it was an engine option with the 540 being another. The 354 came as standard on the 860. I believe the 8590 combnine had a 640 option as well. Point is, there should be parts available.

Might want to take a ride over to this machine and pop the hood. Someone could of stuffed an 640 in it.
