I have a Landini 8860 that has the same front end as 293's and 294's. In fact the axle casting and the hub casting have the MF triangles logo on them.

Anyway, I'm trying to get the pins out that hold the final drive assembly onto the front axle. (I need to remove the axle shafts to get the differential out because the threads on the input pinion shaft are ruined.) I made a puller up and managed to get one of the four pins and bearings out. But the others are not co-operating and I'm starting to ruin the threads on the 20 mm threaded rod that I made my puller out of.

Before I launch the torch and start heating things up, does anybody know any better methods of getting those pins and bearings out?

Thanks,

JP.

I went out last night after supper and noticed that my puller was a little bent. So I beefed it up, SUBSTANTIALLY, and those last three pins moved with no need for fire.

Lesson learned, again, make your pullers stout, steel is cheap!

JP.
