My neighbor has a 1960 MF 35 tractor.

Something in the steering box went bad on it.
He has called around here trying to find a box with no luck.

Do any of y'all know where he could find one online.

He said he mite could do with just getting the steering shaft.

The shaft with the steering wheel and the ball nut on it.

From his description of the problem it sounds like the ball

nut came apart and the bearings are getting in the sector gears.

So can y'all help us find a steering box.

Thanks.

He told me the length but I slept since then.

Serial Number of the Tractor is SNM 208314.

I'm gonna give him the contact info (below) for this site and

hopefully he can call them and find out what he needs.

Or if anyone has a better idea I'd sure love to hear it.

Thanks.

I found Sparex. Didn't see prices tho.

I did find the steering shaft here maybe

Link

This was looked up under a MF 135. It was mentioned to me

that the parts may be interchangeable between the MF 35 and MF 135.

Steering Shaft & Nut Assembly - For 135 Manual Steering (SN 641616186>). Sheering Shaft & Nut Assembly. 22 3\8" long. (Part No: 1031344M91) $199.95

Steering Shaft & Nut Assembly - For Power Steering on TO35, 35, 135 (>SN 641016186), 2135 (Prior to SN 646001410). 21 3\4" Long. (Part No: 1751666M91) $213.44

I don't know if his tractor has power steering or not. Never noticed it.

Are the boxes interchangeable from a MF 135 to a MF 35.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,
Most parts will be interchangeable. The tube will be different for the 135 from the 35 because it has the extra bracket at the top of the tube to support the instrument panel.
There is also a difference in the length of the tube as I recently found out. If you find one measure the overall length of the tube to compare. If that's OK you should be able to make the change.

PB:

I believe that the steering shaft assembly is available from Sparex.
