A friend of mine is looking at a MF 65. He says it runs "ok" but the three point does not work. He was told that the owners son put the wrong oil in the lift. He was also told by another guy, that if the levers are not in the right place it won't work. Got any ideas for him. Thanks Ron

A common problem is using modern hydraulic/transmission/gear oil in these older tractors. It's generally too thin and causes reduced power in the lift. Specs call for SAE 80 or 90. Peter

On my 65, one the the two red control levers that are located just in front of the seat between your legs need to be on...either ahead or back, in order to make the 3pt hitch active. There are lock levers on each of these levers to lock them on. Try that and let me now how it works for you.
